Are you attracting or repelling your members with your content?

When you are building your program content…

Remember that is not about your why that you need to have clarity on.

You need to tune in to your customer’s reasons why they want to join your program. Always focus on your community’s ultimate end results.

The first thing you must do is to discover their internal and external struggles. Then you can start building the content that is going to help them move forward and progress towards their end result.

This content needs to have a purpose and step-by-step milestones otherwise instead of attracting them is going to repel them.

So, now I ask you …Are you attracting or repelling your clients with your content?

Content is the hardest thing to put together inside your membership. Why is that so? Figuring out the right balance for each stage is crucial so that they can reach the end goal. Having a balanced portion is challenging because you will always doubt and question yourself “Is this content enough for them to learn?”, “what if I just include A B and C?”, “How do I know if they are progressing?”.

I want to reassure you that many other business owners, including myself, have been where you are right now. I’ve debated what content I should include inside my programs. I’ve learned through trial and error and experimenting but especially by connecting myself with great mentors that have guided me and coached me through the process.

Be reassured that there is always a learning curve throughout the whole process but once you overcome this hurdle, all will start to make sense.

In the video below, I talk about the four steps that you must take into consideration when you are creating your member’s content.

  • Clarity on the “Why” of your members? This is one of the stages that you must pay close attention to because when you know exactly where your tribe wants to be then, you just need to focus on the milestones of each stage of your content.

  • The pathway to Success: Identify the stages that will take them from where they are to where they want to be.

  • Ask yourself these questions to help you to progress in building the “Just enough” content framework.

  • What is your learning style? Everybody has different ways of learning. How we learn will either slow us down or encourages us towards better assimilating our learning. And therefore shortening our learning curve and progress much faster towards our end result.

8 Learning styles to consider when you build your program content:

    • Visual: The visual learner prefers to use images, pictures, colours, and maps to organize information and communicate with others. They are people who can easily visualize objects, plans, and outcomes, and work best with a visual platform.
    • Auditory: This is a musical learner who likes to work with sound and music. They have a good sense of pitch and rhythm and flourish in environments that use music. I remember when I was studying that I would love to have some background music playing to keep me energized and present. The majority of guided meditations have a piece of soothing background music to help you relax.
    • Kinesthetic or Physical: I call them the “The Hands-On” learner who thrives in educational contexts that are more physically immersive. When reading is not stimulating enough, they seek platforms with opportunities for activities such as those with gamification techniques i.e ice-breaker games or roleplaying.
    • Logical or even mathematical: This learner is most effective when using logical and mathematical reasoning. They recognize patterns and connections between content fairly easily and classify and group information to help them learn or understand it. These learners work best with numbers and calculations.
    • Verbal: “The Wordy” learner works well with both the written and spoken word. These learners thrive in educational settings that have or involve reading and writing, and the meaning or sound of words, such as tongue twisters, rhymes, and limericks. They tend to use acronyms, mnemonics, and scripting. For those that write consistently in a journal, this is ideal.
    • Social: “The Social Butterfly” as I call it. Typically loves learning in groups or classes and likes to spend one-on-one time with a teacher or a coach. They heighten their learning by bouncing thoughts off other people and listening to how they respond. These learners prefer to work through issues, ideas, and problems with a group. You prefer to stay around after class and talk with others. This is my realm, I totally resonate with this type f learner.
    • Lone Wolf: They are introspective and independent. They concentrate well, focusing thoughts and feelings on the current topic. These learners spend time on self-analysis and often reflect on past events and the way they approached them. They prefer to work on problems by retreating to somewhere quiet and working through possible solutions.
    • Synergy: This learner is an individual who benefits from many of the different learning styles, with a combination of several different learning elements. I personally have a combination of all the other seven styles. What about you?
