Are you afraid to fail your next launch?
Getting clients is easy when your mindset is right!
I remember when I wanted to start my 1st group program, the fear of failure was paralysing me.
– What if I invest money and get nothing in return?
– What will happen if nobody will join my program?
– Am I capable of leading others into achieving their results?
– It’s so noisy out there in the online world already. Would they listen to me?
– I don’t know what to do with my content and what to deliver to my audience. Is not structured the right way. Am I going to overwhelm them?
These feelings are going to come up all the time when you’re launching your group program. Even if it’s not your first time! Your mind is going to trick you and make you doubt every single step. Your inner gremlins are going to work overtime and you will encounter a few challenges along the way.
Don’t be scared, know that you are not alone. Others just like you have been through the same emotions. I’m no exception to the rule, I have been challenged many times to the point of wanting to just give up and return to my 9 to 5.
What has made me pursue what I so desired instead of giving up? Besides being a very stubborn person, the thought of returning to my JOB was making me sick to my stomach. After all, I fired my own boss and I was determined to make it work.
Then I got introduced to a technique that I was not familiar with. Yes, I am talking about MEDITATION. In true honesty, in the beginning, meditating was “alien” to me. I’ve tried all sorts of meditation techniques like facing a white wall, walking meditation, hypnotic meditation (I do like this one) amongst others.
Then I realised that nothing that I would do had any effect on me. I was still not quieting my mind and grounding myself. My inner chatter was intense.
My inner gremlins were driving me insane to the point of despair. One day I was writing in my Art Journal and asked myself: “What was the time in my life that I was in such a state of calm and emptiness in my mind?”, “What was I doing?”. A lightbulb just switched and suddenly it all made sense.
The time I remembered was when I was drawing or painting. I was in my own world, in control of my paint strokes and my creativity. I was calm and peaceful! When I was painting it was in control of the moving parts and it wouldn’t matter what I was drawing or even what other people would think of it. I then sought to learn about Art Expression Therapy and that is when I started to do my Art Meditation.
Now I use this technique with my clients and on myself. It really helps to calm the mind and let your creative genius flow free.
These are 3 easy steps to help you overcome the fear that you are feeling:
1 – Visualise your group program filled with your ideal clients and meditate on it. See it in your mind has if it had already happened. Who’s around you? What are you doing? Where are you?
2 – Ground yourself so that you don’t overthink and over-react and just BE in the moment! You are enough!
3 – Now, write your story in your journal and start reprogramming your mind so that you start believing and feeling the new reality you want to create. Instead of “What if I don’t get any clients”, let’s imagine your programs fully booked with your ideal clients, engaging and taking action just like you want it.
Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny. ~ Lao Tzu
Let’s do some Art Guided Meditation… grab some colouring pencils and some blank paper and listen to the meditation audio below:
After listening to the audio, draw anything that came up during your quiet moment. It can be anything, it doesn’t matter! It’s your vision and you are the owner of it and you control your own destiny.
IT’S A WRAP
I just want you to become aware that mindset is around 80-90% of your success. So, if you truly want to achieve your dreams and desires and build a life and business with intention, start by taming your inner demons and shifting your thoughts. You’ve heard the saying that what you focus on expands. Let’s focus on success and not a failure.
“What you focus on grows, what you think about expands, and what you dwell upon determines your destiny.” ~ Robin S.Sharma
